12 Days of Christmas Movies! Day 9: The Santa Claus

Well, friends, I think this series of posts has taught me my best blogging lesson for the year, & it is: ONLY COMMIT IF YOU HAVE THE POSTS ALL DRAFTED! Or, at-least give consequences to yourself if you skip a day, Which I have done horribly with my little 12 Days of Christmas Movie posts. It is now Christmas Eve as I sit here playing catch up, & I wish you a WONDERFUL & merry holiday. Hope you eat great foods & watch soke Christmas classics 😉

DAY 9: THE SANTA CLAUS

The Santa Claus gives the ultimate meaning to “sleeper hit.” While it was a success when released in 1994, this yuletide flick has slowly worked its way into becoming a classic & is played numerous times on TV this time of year, on top of its sequels that came nearly a decade later in 2002 & 2004, respectively. When The Santa Claus 2 showed up it was so random, yet, maybe that helped secure its space to be a modern favorite for the millennial’s.

Tim Allen stars as single divorced Dad, Scott. On Christmas Eve when Scott’s son, Charlie, is staying over, he accidentally kills Santa Claus & is magically transported, Charlie in tow, to The North Pole, where he learns that he now has one year to become the next Santa Claus, having killed the previous!

The Santa Claus cleverly tracks Scott’s life for that year, while, like it or not, he IS becoming Santa Claus. Throw in Charlie’s therapist Step Dad who is led to believe the boy is having a mental issue, & Scott gaining  a massive amount of weight in the blink of an eye, & you have a sweet, poignant film that is perfect for this time of year! xo
