Bob’s Burgers Presents Beef Relief!
(Editor’s Note: I was so excited when Along Comes Mary was invited to attend this special comedy event with Bob’s Burgers. While I was unable to attend, I sent out Lisa Altschuler to get us the scoop! xo, Mary)
Want a night of comedy but help out refugees as well? Well, Beef Relief takes care of both! One of the amazing writers of the Fox hit, Bob’s Burgers wanted to do something to help the refuges in Yemen obtain better living conditions by offering services that can give them clean water, reliable food sources and proper health care.
So, her brain child was to get a bunch of comedians, who were friends of the show, to put on a charity event to raise money for the International Rescue Committee. This organization helps people all around the world who need help getting things that we take for granted by bringing them basic human needs.
This wonderful and hilarious event was hosted by Bob’s Burgers star, Kristen Schaal, who plays Louise on the show, brought her quirky comedic style to the show. I was laughing so hard, I couldn’t breathe.
Along with her, the other comedians who were generous enough with their time to take part in this event were:
Nicole Byer (Loosely Exactly Nicole)
Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover)
Andy Kindler (Bob’s Burgers, Everybody Loves Raymond)
Laura Silverman (Bob’s Burgers, Sarah Silverman Show)
Ron Funches (Undateable)
Jon Lovett (Pod Cast America)
Will Forte (Last Man on Earth, SNL)
Dan Mintz (Tina from Bob’s Burgers)
Throughout the show, the comedians mentioned how great this event was, so that the IRC can raise much needed funds to help refugees in need. They were even talking about doing this again next year!
