Gluten Free at 3rd & Fairfax!

“Meet me at 3rd & Fairfax!” is a famous expression among Angelinos as it refers to meeting up at LA’s historic & original, Farmers Market. Only afew blocks from The Miracle Mile & Museum Row, as I blogged about afew days ago, The Farmers Market is home to a vast range of eateries, shops & markets. While they continue to host stands to purchase fresh produce, meats, even Alligator meat(!), they are also famous for their dining including bakeries, candy, ice cream, coffee, international food & even….yep…gluten free! Towards the back of this daily faire, lays Deano’s Pizza, offering GF pizza & pasta. I have had their pizza & fettucini alfredo with shrimp…both were excellent! You can basically get any pasta dish GF that you do not mind is prepared with GF spaghetti. Along with these offerings, they also have many vegan dishes & salads. Prices aren’t too bad, either, especially when you get to soak in the atmosphere & maybe spot a celebrity (supposidly this isย THE spot to do so…I have not seen anyone of importance….yet!)

Whether or not you see a celebrity, this is the perfect spot to people watch for very stereotypical ‘LA’ people…I am not often struck with how ‘perfect’ looking SoCal folks are, but last time I was here, I found myself noticing that every other guy walking around was indeed quite HOT, & out of a magazine, same for the women…gorgeous looking outfits, perfect teeth, hair, bodies…I felt like I had stepped into Beverly Hills, 90210 for a moment!

For the many times I have been here, I must say I never recall paying a visit to Mr. Marcel Gourmet Market. Inside this specialty grocery store, you will find all kinds of goodies for kids & grown ups alike. Their huge selection of wines along the walls are amazing! Loads of candies & cheeses along with meats & even pickle barrels are just afew of the choices they have….

Red? White? Which would YOU choose?!

And, of course…there are souvenirs GALORE for all your faraway (& local) friends!

This tee had words to live by….”You Only Live Once”.

I took this more for a friend…we have hidden references with beanies!;-)

If you will be in LA, The Farmers Market is a great place to visit (esp. if you’re GF) & well worth your time, whether you are in search of seeing people, shopping for souvenirs, groceries, food, wine, STICKERS! (they have a shop dedicated to ALL stickers….from Star Wars to Justin Bieber!) or eating great food, it is all right there & next door (literally) is The Grove, a high-end outside fashion mall with all your essentials like Cheesecake Factory, Marmalade Cafe, Bath & Body Works, A&F, Movie theatre, etc….psst…most celebs with books hold book signings here at The Barnes & Noble, fyi!:-)
