Join Me for Carly Rae Jepsen This Weekend!

I was so excited when the chance arose from another awesome Mary, from LetsPlayOC, for me to head out to The Greek Theatre this Sunday night to see the fabulous Carly Rae Jepsen! Since I have been telling my friends how much I am looking forward to this concert, I have been commonly getting the similar response….they start singing her hit single from last year, Call Me, Maybe 😉

While Call Me Maybe helped put Carly on top & helped her earn The 2012 American Music Award for “New Artist of the Year” and named Billboard’s 2012 Rising Star, thanks to the ubiquitous single, which has sold more than 10 million singles worldwide and climbed to No. 1 in more than 47 countries. It was the best-selling song of 2012 on iTunes and nominated for 2013 Grammy® Awards for both “Song of the Year” and “Best Pop Solo Performance.”
Last week, Carly took home three 2013 Juno Awards for “Single of the Year” for “Call Me Maybe”, “Album of the Year” and “Pop Album of the Year”….not bad for a 27-year-old, eh?!

Carly’s new single, which I love already,  “Tonight I’m Getting Over You,” is a song she co-wrote with producer Max Martin, & is available now from the singer/songwriter’s debut album Kiss, which reached the Top Ten in the U.S. and Jepsen’s native Canada, as well as in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and the UK.   The stylish video, which already has over 14 million YouTube views, was shot in downtown Los Angeles in late January and directed by Nathalie Canguilhem.

It was also announced earlier this year that Jepsen would appear in iconic fashion brand Candie’s’ Spring 2013 multimedia marketing campaign, which has also featured such superstar spokeswomen as Britney Spears and Fergie.  Carly was recently named the first spokeswoman for millennial natural personal care brand, güd from one of my favorite brands, Burt’s Bees, where she has appeared in a multi-faceted campaign that debuted this Spring.

Tickets are selling fast for her concert this Sunday, September 15th, at LA’s historic Greek Theatre. I would love to see you there, so hurry on over & book your tickets now! 🙂

I’m missing her concert but I do like the US Swim Team’s rendition of “Call Me Maybe!” http://www.whatiruninto.com/2012/07/27/friday-five-7-27-12-olympics/
