Star Wars Celebration 2015!

I have long-awaited attending a “Con”: Comic-Con, Wonder Con, you get my idea. Translation: a nerds galore weekend filled with costumes, dudes proudly wearing a lanyard decked out with pins, and being able to eavesdrop on a conversation I may not fully understand but still appreciate. I love it thousands of fans gather to celebrate and geek out over collectibles, meet stars from movies and connect with other fans. Well, friends, I think I asked for it when I finally attended one of these conventions: I was invited to cover The Star Wars Celebration over the weekend in Anaheim, and did I EVER get my fill of stormtroopers, Jedis, Darth Vaders, and Skywalkers.

Star Wars Celebration 2015

The four-day event was celebrated worldwide as fans gathered to kick off the with JJ Abrams discussing his newest venture as Director of the Force Awakens. Awakens is the most anticipated film of 2015. The surprises continued as legends and stars graced the Convention Center. Even Carrie Fisher and Mark Hammill (Luke and Leia) were among the lineup.

Star Wars: Battlefront

It was tempting to jump in line to meet Fisher and Hammill. But at $100 a pop, we decided to pass. We had a blast as we people watched and checked out a good portion of the expo. The highlight, for me, but especially Michael, was being one of the few people to check out a sneak peek of the equally anticipated video game coming from LucasFilms and Dice Game this November 17th, Battlefront.

Battlefront will take players to all of the universes we love and dream of going to. In addition, there will be some only referred to in the films. Seeing this special preview got me extremely excited about it, and the response from the audience was amazing! Created at Skywalker Ranch and in Stockholm, the Dolby surround sound alone is enough to easily make this one of the best-sounding games to come out in history. Added perk, when fans order Battlefront they will receive a free bonus game. This will take players to the new, mysterious surroundings we saw in the first teaser trailer for the Force Awakens. Just think, this is all before the film even drops!

May the Force be with Us!

After attending Star Wars Celebration, it’s clear to see that 2015 could be the best year yet for a fan. Better yet, become one. I’m so excited for Fall and can assure you that with my boyfriend around, I will have follow-ups for you on Battlefront and The Force Awakens! xo

(*Disclosure: I was provided media credentials to attend this convention. All opinions are my own.)
