This week marks the beginning of easily my favorite time of year: Summer! While it takes me a bit to adjust to these temperatures heating up (94 today, and going up as the week goes on), Summer always means fun events, lighter evenings, and a road trip or two (of course).

As my date book fills up with more day trips, weekend adventures and some further travels in the works, one thing is always for sure: I need to plan accordingly when we go away. I am the Queen of forgetting something, and have learned (the hard way) to make check lists and notes when I go shopping pre-road trip adventures.

Since last weekend found us in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, and I knew I needed to stay organized, I made a check list to ensure nothing was forgotten on our little road trip up the California Coast, and, have to admit, I forget how into check lists I am 😉 If you’re a fellow forgetter, read on as I list some common essentials that we should remember when packing for a little fun in the sun!

Whether it be a protein bar, fruit, almonds, I need to have a healthy munchies at the ready. And, who doesn’t want to munch on a road trip? Which, brings me to my 2nd must-have…
I’ve been a Type 1 since I was eight years old, and am always in search of ways to better my health and lifestyle. That’s when a product like Nature Made® Daily Diabetes Health Pack comes in handy. Scientifically formulated to supply nutritional support for people with diabetes or prediabetes †, Nature Made® Daily Diabetes Health Pack provides essential vitamins and minerals for daily nutritional support †, as well as essential omega-3 fatty acids that help support a healthy heart † Which, might I add, comes in handy when your ‘relaxing’ getaway looks like this….
Stopping to look at the view on our bike ride along the coast.
Hiking at Jack’s Peak Trail in Monterey.

As someone who is always reluctant to be in the Great Outdoors, I felt really proud of myself for biking nearly nine miles, and taking that trail with my husband (almost three miles).

I also love that the the price is right with my Nature Made® Daily Diabetes Health Pack, I can get a 2 month supply online with Sam’s Clubs for under thirty dollars, and the check-out was just as easy (if not easier) as if I were in-store!

Unlike a lot of warehouse and one stop shopping centers that require you to have a membership to visit, Sam’s Club has made it extremely easy to get what you need online, whether or not you’re a member. Which comes in handy for my Nature Made® Daily Diabetes Health Pack. Check out how simple they make it to remember your vitamins!

Put in convenient packets, Nature Made® makes it pretty darn hard to forget to take your vitamins, am I right? For the trip, I threw a few in my trust cosmetics bag….

For the past few months, my life has been extremely changed with the addition of my CGM.
My CGM empowers me to know what my blood sugar is up to all day and all night, thanks to
continuous readings sent to a phone app every five minutes of what my sugar level is, and
where it’s heading. with my health concerns, this has made me much more in control of my
health, and especially, if I am at risk for a low.

While during the day found us all over Monterey Bay as we biked, hiked and soaked up the
sun, we headed Saturday evening to a nice dinner. I was still in my biking outfit! Times like that,
I may get a little vain and want to attempt to look more polished than I may be. This is why I do
have my make-up bag on me when we are out and about. Which brings me to…

Since I was trying to clean up a bit and not have my face soaked and sweaty, I realized the best
thing: I need to carry a pack of make-up remover towelettes on me! Not just for washing away
your cosmetics, these babies came in extra handy even when I was fresh-faced. The perfect
refresher post-trekking the city.

If you are looking for ways to better manage your health, and, just a really great check list, Sam’s Club has you covered with theirs, too:

Where are you headed this Summer, and what will you bring to feel your best?!

LOVE this list and your beautiful photos. What a fun little get away. So glad you have found a good way to travel and not miss a beat! Happy Summer!
(I carry handiwipes (unscented for babies)
And a baggie to put the wet ones in and toss later. Use them all the time and I think that helps me to not get sick from germs.)
