hololive Returns to the Dodgers this Saturday
The Dodgers and anime. Two subjects that don’t necessarily go together but this Saturday, July 5th, both worlds will collide. It’s summertime which means the LA Dodgers are in full swing and each year there are always fun partnerships to pump up the attendees. Although I’m not a sports person at all, I never turn down the opportunity to go to a game. I’ve enjoyed baseball games from the Dodgers, Mariners, and Angels plus some hockey nights and auto races. While watching on TV may not excite me, I adore the atmosphere of attending in person. It brings to mind a live show or large-scale concert.
Now, if you noticed, I mentioned anime. It’s true. This Saturday, COVER Corp’s second annual collaboration between the Los Angeles Dodgers and hololive production will occur on Shohei Ohtani’s, Japanese professional baseball designated hitter and pitcher for the Dodgers, birthday.
This year’s game will feature the first-ever VTuber live stream both to and from Dodger Stadium (via YouTube and the hololive home page throughout the world). There will be exclusive in-stadium appearances from three of hololive’s favorite talents. And even an on-field dance party. If that’s not enough to get you excited, each ticket comes with autographed “trading cards” featuring the hololive talents who are appearing that day.
What is holoive?
Holoive is a talent agency based out of Tokyo, Japan that manages Virtual YouTubers; content creators who stream using digital avatars. Most of the talents are Japanese, but there is also an Indonesian and English branch. The talents provide all sorts of entertainment, including but not limited to: gaming streams, karaoke streams, drawing streams and talking streams.
Fans can expect exclusive in-stadium appearances from three hololive English talents, Ninomae Ina’nis, IRyS, and Koseki Bijou in real-time. The hololive talents will not only cheer for the Dodgers but also provide their sing-along version of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” during the seventh-inning stretch of the baseball game. At the end of the game, fans will have the chance to join the talents on the field, where they will host special programming such as interactive activities, and a new “WHO’S got the MOVES?!” segment where fans can dance and jam together to popular hololive tunes.

In addition, this special event will be broadcast live to hololive English’s official YouTube channel, marking the first time in history for a VTuber company to stream both to and from Dodger Stadium.
hololive takes over the Dodgers
Fans will also enjoy a vast series of onsite hololive-themed activities, such as taking pictures with the featured talent’s cutouts, helping themselves to delicious stadium food and drinks with event-only hololive themed packaging, and more to be announced via hololive English’s official social media channels later.
The hololive night ticket package includes a ticket to the baseball game as well as event-exclusive Dodger x hololive production trading cards (pack of three) that feature the three main cast of this year’s event in Dodgers uniforms. Lucky fans may even draw a special version of the cards that include the talent’s printed autograph.
While Mike is the biggest anime fan of our family, he’s converted me and Mabel has become a fast fan, especially of the Studio Ghibli films.
