Imaginarium Atlantis in Camarillo
I’m a sucker for immersive experiences. I love the feeling of stepping out of my “world” and into a whole new one. When I heard Imaginarium was headed to Camarillo in Ventura County, I knew it would be up my alley. Imaginarium offers guests throughout the country unique and extensive walk-through experiences with thousands of dazzling lights, life-size displays, photo ops, and more. With their current stop in Camarillo, we leave the small town charm of the Central Coast and dive into Atlantis.
Imaginarium Atlantis in Camarillo
With each Imaginarium experience, a special theme is designated. Given that Camarillo is minutes from the ocean, it’s fitting that there’s Atlantis. Imaginarium Atlantis transforms an ample portion of the world famous Camarillo Premium Outlets into an under the sea adventure.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when we arrived. Given it’s an outdoor attraction, I was skeptical it was about to be a glorified carnival. Yet as soon as we entered the world of Atlantis, I was dazzled as were Mike and Mabel. The Imaginarium team has done an exquisite job at presenting an array of wonder and awe as soon as the sun goes down.
With 24 “photo boxes,” guests can grab countless selfies and even get those holiday card pictures ready. Some ops are psychedelic while others give the illusion of walking through a sunflower meadow. It’s a terrific opportunity for the young and old.

Mermaids and Ball Pits
In one dark room, Post-it notes written in glow pens adorn the walls. Write a message to your future self, leave a political statement, or simply draw My Neighbor, Totoro as Mike did. Mabel drew some hearts to leave her mark!
One highlight sure to be a hit with the kiddos is a massive ball pit that gives the illusion of swimming through Atlantis. We could have spent our entire visit here had it been up to Mabel. It honestly puts Chuck E Cheese’s to shame.
Also included with admission is a circus show at their center stage that combines aerial and acrobatic effects. At just 10 years old, their acrobatic performer gave a spectacular performance of being a mermaid. Complete with fish hooks and twirls to rival Ariel from The Little Mermaid.
